Objective:  

I can explain how Stalin gained and consolidated power.

Warm-Up:

Please make a copy of your notes and put them up on Classroom, if you have not.

With your partners, fill in the organizer. How could Stalin be considered a national hero? A cold blooded murderer?

Agenda:

1) Discussion of the tools of totalitarianism.
2) Film clips on Stalin. We are showing very small clips. So please take notes on your graphic organizer! (about 25 minutes)

3)  Mini Chalk Talk on Stalin Documents.  Read the document and respond.  Only 10  minutes for this!

Homework:
